Pair Burr Walnut Bedside Chests of Drawers.
Early 19th.c Mahogany Bachelor's Chest.
This delightful mahogany bachelor's chest is proof that good design really is timeless. Two hundred years since it was made this simple little chest is still a practical, beautifully proportioned piece of furniture to grace the life of its next owner. The hard wearing oak drawer linings and original brass swan neck handles have withstood the test of time, whilst its small size (less than 3 foot wide) and unfussy lines typical of Georgian cabinet making, mean it will fit easily into any room.
Restored and repolished, original throughout.
Dimensions: width 34", depth 19", height 37".
£1495.

1950's Car Mascot
This wonderful 1950's chrome plated car bonnet mascot is something of a mystery item. The futuristic styling is typically American but we have not been able to identify the manufacturer or the type of car it belongs to. We would love to hear if anyone out there has any ideas. In the meantime it is for sale on here on ebay.

Arts & Crafts Bedroom Suite c.1910.
Here are a few images of the red walnut Arts and Crafts style bedroom suite first listed in December, now restored and repolished and out on the shop floor looking fabulous. Unfortunately we have not been able to identify the manufacturer but is a wonderful example of the style from the very early years of the 20th.c. The delightful pewter and marquetry inlaid panels on the wardrobe doors, suggestive of the work of designers like Charles Rennie Mackintosh, are repeated on the centre drawer of the dressing chest and echoed again in the tulip forms either side of the mirror. Inside the wardrobe is all hanging space and retains its original blue silk lining.

Victorian Mahogany Writing Desk.
A splendid piece of Victorian design for today's blog. This mid 19th.c mahogany Davenport writing desk was purchased locally and is new on the floor this morning after being restored and repolished in our workshop.
A sloping writing surface which lifts to reveal desk space underneath or can be raised on swivel supports to form a flat working surface. A brass pin on the inside is removed to allow the rear section of the top to lift to reveal a letter rack and ink stand. Below the top on each side are slides perhaps designed to hold a candle stick, a drink or further papers. The base contains a bank of mahogany lined drawers on the right hand side and a single cupboard behind dummy drawer fronts on the left. Well carved details to the front edges, polished on all sides.
Dimensions: width 36", depth 25", height 32".

Wintery View of the Warehouse.
Being at sea level this is a rare wintery view of the warehouse taken this morning. Whilst the rest of the county is getting bored with the snow this is the first we have had by the coast. The snow is still falling but we are still open - if no one answers the phone we are all outside building a snowman!
