Late 19th.c. Hall Stand.

Newly arrived here the the shop this afternoon is this unusually narrow late 19th.c. hall stand. Retaining its original bevelled mirror, drip trays, tiled panel and most importantly all its original hooks. In need of a good clean and polish, otherwise in good condition.

Pair Bedside Drawer Pedestals c.1870.

Fresh on the shop floor this morning is this useful pair of mid Victorian mahogany drawer pedestals. Fine quality veneers, particularly to the tops, original carved handles and featuring a small box with a lift up lid to the top of each pedestal. Excellent condition having been restored and repolished in our workshops. Would make ideal beside cabinets but they would work just as well in a living room.

18th.c. Welsh Oak Highback Box Settle c.1770.

Please excuse the slightly gloomy photos, we are rapidly loosing the daylight here this afternoon. Great excitement here now with the arrival of this fine 18th.c. North Wales highback oak box settle. 6 feet long with a two plank lift up seat seat, panelled back and sides. Original throughout, in rare unrestored condition and a great colour - a wax and a polish should let it sing again.

Pair Garden Arm Chairs

It's may not be quite the weather for sitting outside today but at least you would not have to worry about these garden chairs blowing over! A fine pair of large and heavy hardwood garden armchairs. Nicely silvered with age and great in solid condition.

Monster Bookcase!

Something of star item to start the week with here. A very large Edwardian walnut breakfront bookcase c.1905. Measuring an impressive 9'6" long. Superb quality with elegant inlaid door panels, adjustable shelves and hardwood linings and backboards. Despite its size it is easy to move as it splits into three sections plus the top.
Excellent colour and condition having been restored and repolished in our workshops. Key supplied.

Georgian Mahogany Press Cupboard

Some new images here of the Georgian mahogany clothes press c.1800 listed here last week. Now restored and repolished and out on the shop floor. Superb quality typical of Georgian furniture, with oak linings, a panelled oak back and solid mahogany sides and doors. Splits into two for ease of delivery. Keys supplied.

Bergere Sofa and Armchair.

Superb quality walnut framed bergere sofa and armchair. Well carved and sturdy ball and claw feet, double canework panels to the sides, excellent colour and condition and very newly upholstered.

Early 19th.c. Pierced Front Dresser Base.

Following on from recent posts here is another fine piece of oak furniture, another new arrival today. A delightful small early 19th.c. oak three drawer potboard dresser base c.1810. With unusual pierced and shaped apron, shaped sides, turned front legs and a raised plate stand at the back.

Unusual Mahogany Breakfast Table.

An unusual new arrival at the shop this morning in the shape of this early 19th.c. folding mahogany breakfast table on a pedestal base c.1830. A rare Pembroke style mechanism which holds both leaves rigid with two hinged brackets on each side. When closed it reveals this beautifully veneered central cylinder.

Late 18th.c. North Wales Oak Dresser Base.

Superb colour on this late Georgian oak dresser base restored and repolished here yesterday and out on the shop floor today. Three drawers above two cupboard doors and a bank of dummy drawer fronts. Unusual four plank top, double panelled door fronts, oak panelled sides, original handles.

Boxes.

An interesting contrast here between two chests from opposite sides of the globe.


First up, a new arrival yesterday, a 19th. century Indian strong box. Elaborate and decorative panelled construction reinforced with iron plates. Raised on turned feet, with carry handles at each end. A good height to use as a coffee table.

Also pictured here is a small mid 18th. century oak three panel coffer. With unusual and original carved detail to the staves, front and the front edge of the lid. Great colour, repolished in our workshops.

Georgian Mahogany Press Cupboard.

Apologies for the lack of posts yesterday - lots of new stock, I just ran out of time. Anyway here is the first of yesterday's highlights. A good Georgian mahogany clothes press. Lots of nice features including flame mahogany door panels, solid mahogany sides, oak drawer linings and back boards, dental cornice and original handles. All this and a great small size. It has gone into the workshop for a little work, I shall post again when it is done.

Late 19th.c. Extending Oak Dining Table.

With the feasting season just around the corner now we are pleased to bring you this good sized late Victorian oak extending dining table. Good pale oak colour, turned and reeded leg on original casters. With two removable leaves, opening and closing on a corkscrew mechanism it will comfortably seat 10 when fully extended. Fully restored and repolished, winding handle supplied.

Burr Walnut Wardrobe.

Loads of hanging space behind the beautifully patterned doors of this Edwardian Queen Anne style burr walnut wardrobe. With a full length mirror to the inside of the right hand door and a useful single drawer in the base. Excellent condition having been restored and repolished in our workshops. Key supplied.
