New Stock - Welsh Dresser

Purchased locally, arrived in the showroom this morning. A late Georgian oak Caernarfonshire Welsh dresser in fine original, unrestored condition. With original handles and wonderful wide backboards, it also retains its original feet. Unusually, all the drawers down the centre are working rather than dummies. It would benefit from a wax and some work on the drawer runners (which have had some amateur repairs). But it is an attractive dresser in perfectly clean, usable condition.

Fresh out on the the shop floor this morning having been repolished in our workshop this Edwardian mahogany shaving / dressing stand. The mirror is held on a brass mount so the height and angle are fuly adjustable.

New Stock - Late Victorian Extending Dining Table

New on the floor this morning having been fully restored in our workshop, this late victorian two leaf, solid mahogany extending dining table. Overall dimensions 48" x 93" it is a comfortable 8 seater. Typically for this period of table it opens on a corkscrew mechanism to allow you to remove one or two leaves.

New out on the floor this afternoon; this quality Victorian mahogany two door wardrobe. One side is fitted with drawers and shelves while the other is for hanging with a drawer below. Luckily it splits into two sections so, despite the weight of the original mirror doors, it would fit easily even into a small house.

Superb pair of early 20th century armchairs with carved oak frame, good ball and claw feet and very nice mellow red leather upholstery. A large, tall seat and sturdy frame mean they are a pair of chairs with presence and the strength to stand up to modern living.

The blog is back after enjoying its weeks holiday in Pembrokeshire. New in the shop today this set of Lloyd Loom armchairs and table with unusual and very retro black tapered steel legs. From the late 1950's this was an updating of the original wicker and wooden design. In fine condition with original paint finish.

New on the shop floor this morning; this delightful and rare early 19th.c oak chest of drawers of tiny proportions (30" x 18" x 31"). It is oak lined with a lovely colour and patina and dates from around 1800. Small furniture like this is always at a premium simply because more people can accomodate it.

For distance deliveries we turn things over to the excellent Deane's Removals a local family run company based around the corner from us. Late 18th.c. oak dresser base. Conwy valley c.1790. A superb piece of locally made furniture. This was bought privately from up the valley last week and it is now out on the shop floor fully restored and looking great. The timber has that great colour and patina unique to North Wales oak furniture.

New Stock - Art Deco Dining Suite

Congratulations to Mr Collinge for his appearance on the Billy Butler show on radio Merseyside this afternoon. He is replacing John Crane as the expert on their regular antiques phone-in whilst John is away for a few weeks. He will be on again next Tuesday from 2pm so listen in or better still phone up for a valuation.
New stock arrives almost everyday here at the warehouse. This is an interesting Walnut Art Deco dining suite which has just arrived this afternoon. A good extending dining table, 8 chairs, a super little side table and there is a sideboard too. It is all there but could do with a little work. I will post another photo when the restorers have brought it back to its former glory.

New Stock - Late 18th.c. Oak Gate Leg Table.

Morning everyone. This table has just had a quick wax from our restorer Tony and was added to the shop floor moments ago. It is a late 18th.c. oak drop leaf dining table dating from around 1790. With beautiful pale oak on the top and a good turned base. It would sit 6 people comfortably - 8 at a push.

Welcome to the Collinge Antiques blog. In an effort to improve our presence on the web I intend to make regular postings here of stock as it arrives in our large warehouse showroom in Llandudno Junction, North Wales but to start with here is a photo of the interior of the shop.
