It is always an extra pleasure to welcome a piece of Georgian furniture into the shop. The quality of the materials, the proportions and the colour are invariably superior to later pieces. Here is a fine example and alo a very practical piece of storage. A Georgian mahogany clothes press with slides in the top section and four small drawers below c.1800. Notice the size and quality of the full panel mahogany veneers in the doors, the good dental cornice and original feet. Typically for furniture of this period the linings in both the slides and the drawers are of oak and quality of construction is excellent.
