Another glorious piece of early Welsh furniture new for today's blog. This superb Welsh dresser produced in the venerable market town of Llanrwst in the Conwy valley around 1770 has been setting pulses racing since it arrived here in the shop. The shaped panels and bellied rack sides are evidence of its local origins as are the quality of the timbers used - note the original oak back boards. The shaped cornice is an unusual and attractive original feature. It is remarkable to think that in over two hundred years this dresser has probably moved less than 15 miles!
