Cwpwrdd Tridarn

Pictured here in the not very glamorous surroundings of our workshop is a real star, newly arrived this afternoon. A mid 18th.c. Welsh Cwpbwrdd Tridarn or three piece cupboard, in solid oak c.1750. The tridarn was the forerunner of the traditional Welsh Dresser which began to emerge around this time as the top display section grew to absorb the middle cupboard section, the base remaining largly unchanged. In generally excellent condition, it just needs the cornice putting back on and a gentle clean and polish. I shall post again when it is out in the shop.
