Regency Mahogany Chest of Drawers.

Restored, repolished and out on the shop floor this afternoon is this very practical Regency mahogany 'caddy top' chest of drawers c.1810. The term 'caddy top' refers to the lack of any molding or ornamentation to the top edge - typical of tea caddys from this period. Instead of applied ornament the stripped down design, with just two single bands of ebony inlay, drawers attention to the excellent grain in the timber used. With unusual brass knobs and original, slightly flared feet.
Dimensions: width 41", height 42", depth 20".
